Serving His Children

While in Jinja our team had the privilege of visiting with another ministry, Serving His Children.

Serving His Children is a pretty amazing ministry run by a woman named Renee Bach.  We met up with her mid week to take a tour of their facility and learn more about her ministry.

{From their website}
Serving His Children’s mission is to reflect the unconditional love of Christ as we rehabilitate the physical bodies of severely malnourished children and strive to make long term changes in the hearts of the families involved.  It is our belief that malnutrition is a cycle and that the physical body of a child may be healed but the cycle will not be broken without the education of the family and changes in the home.  We believe that every family comes to us by divine appointment and it is our desire that no one should leave without a clear physical picture of the love of Christ and an understanding of His saving gospel!
. . . . . . . . . . . . .

We were so excited to learn about them and how they help to nourish these children back to health.  But more importantly, how they educate the families in the process.  It was so encouraging to see the process of how they do this with each family that comes in!

Renee has a pretty incredible testimony herself - just to see how the Lord brought her to Uganda by starting a feeding program - to evolving into something even deeper!  She is a remarkable woman doing the work of the Lord through Serving His Children!

While visiting with them, we were able to deliver many of the donations that so many of you graciously donated prior to our leaving for Uganda.  What a blessing they were to them and we thankful to have been able to give them.

To learn more about Renee Bach and her ministry, Serving His Children... go check out there website HERE.  We're so thankful we got to visit with them and learn more about their work!  We pray you might consider getting involved and seeing how you can be a blessing to them!

Many thanks, Voices 4 the Voiceless Team

Come with Us!

I wish I could bring you to Uganda with us, even for just a day so you could see what it's like. I would love so much for you to fall in love with this country that has stolen our hearts.

I would show you the beauty and power of God's creation in Lake Victoria and the rest of the Nile and in the lush, green landscape of the country.

I would take you to the Source internet cafe and buy you a Fanta in a glass bottle and tell you about all the memories I have in this place.

I would introduce you to some of the warmest, most grateful and most hospitable people you could ever meet.

Our hearts would be broken together for the injustice in the world. And we would give thanks together too...for all we have been blessed with and for all the ways God is at work in the world and in our hearts.

Sadly, we cannot physically take you along on this trip with us. (Although, we never know what God has planned for the future. Next time...)

But we would like very much for you to stay in touch with us and experience this trip with us as much as possible.

There are several ways you can keep up with our team (as long as our internet access cooperates there!). We are hoping to post here on the Voices 4 the Voiceless blog each day, and you can also follow our team via social media.

Here's how to stay in touch:

• Follow us on Instagram-  #v4vuganda

• Become a fan of Voices 4 the Voiceless on Facebook

• Follow us on Twitter-  #v4vorphancare

• And of course, follow us HERE!

We are also in need of some prayer partners to labor with us while we are gone. We would like to have someone scheduled to pray specifically for us each day of our trip. Obviously, we would love for you to pray for us every day, but we also would like to have a prayer warrior assigned for more intentional, focused prayer each day. If you would be willing to join our team in this way, shoot me an email at rachel@voices4thevoiceless.org. I will set you up for your day and send you some specific guidelines.

So, as we get ready for this adventure the Lord has laid before us, please make plans to be a part. We'd love to have you along for the ride!

Looking to support a ministry?

Maybe you have some money put aside to help a family in need, do something good for the community, or maybe even support a ministry?  Well, if you're looking to help advocate for the orphan, maybe put a little food on the table and help a ministry in the mean time... you've come to the right place.

Voices 4 the Voiceless hosts a number of fundraisers that supports orphans worldwide, as well as other ministries with specific needs.  We recently partnered with Amazima, and raised enough funds to feed over 1800 orphans a meal a day for an entire week!  Praise God!  We're also in the process of collecting basic medical supplies for Amazima, Canaan Children's Home and other ministries in Uganda.

In addition, we have many other opportunities that have been brought to our attention and in order to continue serving and advocating for the orphans... we need your help!

Raising funds is obviously a major need for us right now.  Being a new ministry, and a non-profit, funds are limited.  So... here is a way for you to help out, and even get the kids involved!

By simply tossing your spare change into the jar each day when you get home, or having your kids "donate" part of their allowance into the jar... you are helping us reach more!

Not only are you helping us to continue the work God has laid before us, but you are teaching your children how the importance of caring for & loving the orphan.

When your jar is full, you can take your coins to the bank and deposit them.  Then, you can make your donation online through our online giving, or by mailing a check to our PO Box!

Voices 4 the Voiceless
P.O. Box 1149
Columbia, SC 29202

We hope you will continue praying for this ministry and all that God is doing!

Proverbs 31:8-9

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,
for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Many thanks, your Voices 4 the Voiceless Team

On the NEWS!

Hi friends!

First thing... we are EXTENDED the Hope Box until 5:00pm tonight.  We still have people eager to get in a donation and many haven't heard about it until our announcement this morning on the news!  So, we're using this opportunity to allow those to get in their donations, as well as possibly reach more orphans!  Will you continue spreading the word?

Also, I'm so happy to share with you our news clip from this morning!  Wach-Fox News featured us on the morning news and allowed us to share about some of the projects we're working on!  How blessed we feel!  Praying God will use that opportunity to stir in the hearts of others! First here is a shot taken just after our segment.  You will notice someone to my right... that would be Ansley.  The sweet 12 year old girl who has been making bracelets for us to help raise awareness and support!  They came into town to be on the show with me!  Thank you Ansley... you did a great job!

Many thanks... your Voices 4 the Voiceless Team

The HOPE Box

Well my friends, its that time of year.  The time of giving, the time to be thankful, the time of rejoicing our Savior, the King, our daddy & sweet sweet baby Jesus!  It is also a time of great need for so many.  A time when many are without, no hope in sight and no one to care.  But [we] do CARE.  And, we as believers in Christ, have HOPE! During the bad times, we trust in our mighty Savior to lift us up, to cradle us and wrap His loving arms around us.  We have HOPE that things will brighten up and that "this too shall pass".  Unfortunately though, many around the world do not share that same HOPE that we do.  So... with your help and hopefully some nice little incentives... we can help give them some HOPE!

With that being said... we're calling this next project/fundraiser The HOPE Box!  Our sweet friend, and Voices 4 the Voiceless team member, Lauren Casperhad a great idea and she has graciously allowed us to "borrow" it!  So.... here is how it works!

Below you will find nearly $300 worth of amazing goodies!  Wouldn't you LOVE to have some of these?  Maybe to keep for yourself, or maybe even share with a friend.  Or maybe you want to "win" this and give the entire box of goodies to a friend!  Whatever you plan to do with it, well, thats entirely up to you!  But just know that 100% of the funds raised from this will go to Voices 4 the Voiceless to continue spreading the word about the orphan crisis in and around the world!  The money will be used to make an impact, and be used for current and future projects!  Will you consider making a donation?

Here is how... simply click the donate button shown in this post.

To ENTER to WIN this awesome box of goodies, simply make a $5 donation!  Its that simple.  For every $5 donation you make... you will be entered.  So, if you donate $25, you will be entered 5 times!!!  PLUS... help us spread the word on facebook - and you'll get 1 additional entry!  :)  Please leave a comment letting us know if you did do a facebook status or post!

DEADLINE to ENTER is Wednesday, December 21st at 12:00pm [noon]!

[reason being... so we can get this shipped to the winner asap in hopes to receive before Christmas!]  :)

Child of the Week - Olga

Hi everyone!

We're going to start being a voice for a child each week!  We will be featuring a child/orphan weekly, most all of whom have down syndrome or cerebral palsy and are up for adoption.  One of the very reasons Voices 4 the Voiceless was started was because of the precious face seen on a friend's blog.  Her name was Terri Lynn and she had been institutionalized and was literally dying in the institution!  Praise God she was adopted soon after the word spread about this precious child!  Had it not been for others who helped spread the word - who knows if I would have ever known about the tragic situations these children with down syndrome face in other countries!

Meet Olga!

This precious child is facing institution!

When a child faces institution, it is because they have hit the age of 5 and once they are institutionalized, they are drugged, kept in a crib and because of neglect, usually die there.  It is absolutely devastating and these children deserve loving homes just like any other orphan!  All of this because they have down syndrome, or something similar and in many countries... this means they are worthless.  :(

For more information on Olga, click HERE.  Or contact Reece's Rainbow to learn more information on how you can adopt Olga or donate towards her adoption costs!

Olga DOES NOT have down syndrome, instead, she has Cerebral Palsy.
Olga was born in December of 2007.
She is a female with gray colored eyes, and brown hair.  Her nature is said to be calm.
From an adoptive family who met her in August of 2011:
"She is gorgeous - long eyelashes, blue eyes, beautiful teeth and smile.  She seemed to have quite limited movement."

She currently has a little over $7,000.00 that is available towards the cost of her adoption!

Will you be a voice for Olga?

Thanks so much, Voices 4 the Voiceless

**please put Mission Uganda in the memo

We pray God will bless this, so that we can help feed thousands!  Will you be a voice?

Matthew 14:15-21

15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”

16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
17 “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.

18 “Bring them here to me,” he said. 19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Will you be a voice?  Thank you for your support AND prayers!

Will you help us collect these items?

Hi everyone!  We have so many new things still to come... but today is orphan Sunday and we wanted to showcase one new project!  We're collecting items to take with us to Uganda in March!  Medical items that are greatly needed and will go to help Katie Davis and her ministry, Amazima.  On a daily basis, she uses these items for people all around her and the surrounding villages.  Many of these items can be purchased in Uganda, but the prices are much higher than we can get them here in the US.

Richard and Brantley will be delivering the collected supplies while in Uganda when they travel in March.  Will you help us collect these items?

Any items collected can be mailed to the following address:

Voices 4 the Voiceless
P.O. Box 1149
Columbia, SC 29202

Or, if you're not able to make these purchases and have them delivered, but still want to help, you can make a donation using the "donate button" on the sidebar.  We will then make those purchases on your behalf & be delivered with the other items.
(in the memo, please make a note that you wish for the money to be used to purchase medical supplies for Uganda)

If you have any questions about this project, and the items being collected, please email Brantley at brantley@voices4thevoiceless.org  She will be happy to answer your questions.

Thanks again for your continued support, and prayers!
