Giving thanks!

We are beyond thankful for so much here at Voices 4 the Voiceless.  One being those who have stepped out and chosen to be a VOICE!  Amy at Filled with Praise so graciously "featured" Voices 4 the Voiceless on her blog.  We're so appreciative of her and her voice!  The more we're able to spread the word... the more lives we can reach and hopefully make a difference!  So, thank you Amy for your kind words and for helping us to spread the word about the orphan crisis around the world!

Secondly, we're thankful for those of you who have started sending in medical supplies!  These items will make a big difference and may seem like common items to us here in the states... but these are items that are greatly needed in Uganda!  Please, keep them coming!

Thanks again for all of you who continue to pray for us, our efforts, the projects we're working on, as well as each featured child!  We're all grateful for your voice!

Many thanks, your Voices 4 the Voiceless team!

Child of the Week - Olga

Hi everyone!

We're going to start being a voice for a child each week!  We will be featuring a child/orphan weekly, most all of whom have down syndrome or cerebral palsy and are up for adoption.  One of the very reasons Voices 4 the Voiceless was started was because of the precious face seen on a friend's blog.  Her name was Terri Lynn and she had been institutionalized and was literally dying in the institution!  Praise God she was adopted soon after the word spread about this precious child!  Had it not been for others who helped spread the word - who knows if I would have ever known about the tragic situations these children with down syndrome face in other countries!

Meet Olga!

This precious child is facing institution!

When a child faces institution, it is because they have hit the age of 5 and once they are institutionalized, they are drugged, kept in a crib and because of neglect, usually die there.  It is absolutely devastating and these children deserve loving homes just like any other orphan!  All of this because they have down syndrome, or something similar and in many countries... this means they are worthless.  :(

For more information on Olga, click HERE.  Or contact Reece's Rainbow to learn more information on how you can adopt Olga or donate towards her adoption costs!

Olga DOES NOT have down syndrome, instead, she has Cerebral Palsy.
Olga was born in December of 2007.
She is a female with gray colored eyes, and brown hair.  Her nature is said to be calm.
From an adoptive family who met her in August of 2011:
"She is gorgeous - long eyelashes, blue eyes, beautiful teeth and smile.  She seemed to have quite limited movement."

She currently has a little over $7,000.00 that is available towards the cost of her adoption!

Will you be a voice for Olga?

Thanks so much, Voices 4 the Voiceless

Matthew 14:15-21

15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”

16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
17 “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.

18 “Bring them here to me,” he said. 19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Will you be a voice?  Thank you for your support AND prayers!

Will you help us collect these items?

Hi everyone!  We have so many new things still to come... but today is orphan Sunday and we wanted to showcase one new project!  We're collecting items to take with us to Uganda in March!  Medical items that are greatly needed and will go to help Katie Davis and her ministry, Amazima.  On a daily basis, she uses these items for people all around her and the surrounding villages.  Many of these items can be purchased in Uganda, but the prices are much higher than we can get them here in the US.

Richard and Brantley will be delivering the collected supplies while in Uganda when they travel in March.  Will you help us collect these items?

Any items collected can be mailed to the following address:

Voices 4 the Voiceless
P.O. Box 1149
Columbia, SC 29202

Or, if you're not able to make these purchases and have them delivered, but still want to help, you can make a donation using the "donate button" on the sidebar.  We will then make those purchases on your behalf & be delivered with the other items.
(in the memo, please make a note that you wish for the money to be used to purchase medical supplies for Uganda)

If you have any questions about this project, and the items being collected, please email Brantley at brantley@voices4thevoiceless.org  She will be happy to answer your questions.

Thanks again for your continued support, and prayers!
