Praisin' some Jesus & a WINNER!

Oh my!  What a blessing The HOPE Box has turned out to be!  This past week has been full of spreading the word about the Hope Box all over facebook, blog posts, tweets and sooo many friends & followers doing the same!  Its been so beautiful to see posts lighting up facebook like a string of Christmas lights!  So many joining us to advocate for the orphan!  So, THANK YOU.  It simply doesn't seem like enough, but please know we're forever grateful... but most of all, the orphans who will benefit from your donations... well, they will be grateful in more ways than we can imagine.

I must say, I'm truly blown away by everyone's generosity and support!

We set a goal of $700 and we raised.... EXACTLY $700!!!!!  I gotta say, its almost comical for me!  Not sure why, almost like Jesus is saying, I got this ALL in MY hands!  Such a huge blessing EACH & EVERY donation that was received!

Everything from $5 - $50 donations!  Wow!

This last day has been the biggest blessing, as we received over 500 hits on this blog, and a few hundred more on our personal blog.  Its been HUGE the number of people we've been able to reach and we give ALL the GLORY to HIM!  Praise God for ALL of these sweet sweet blessings!  AND... as many of you have seen, we were even more blessed to be asked to be on the morning show of WACH-Fox in Columbia, SC to talk about Voices 4 the Voiceless and share all that we have going on.  My prayer for the past two days was and is that people will be reached by our ministry, and that He will stir in the hearts of others. I pray we did that today.

Alright... NOW for the part you all are waiting for!  Let me first start by saying, that even if you do not win, I pray that everyone who donated knows that their money is being used for HIS kingdom.  I also pray that you are still glad at the end of the day that you gave.  Please know I wish we had enough to give back to ALL who donated!  But... there is only one winner of The HOPE Box!  So....

Drum ROLLLL EVERYONE!!!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The WINNER is.....

Kati Everett

Congratulations Kati and thank you so much for entering and for your donation!  Kati, if you will please email brantley@voices4thevoiceless.org as soon as possible so she can ship out The HOPE Box!

Thank you again everyone who entered, shared and donated!  Truly means a lot!

Many thanks, your Voices 4 the Voiceless Team

On the NEWS!

Hi friends!

First thing... we are EXTENDED the Hope Box until 5:00pm tonight.  We still have people eager to get in a donation and many haven't heard about it until our announcement this morning on the news!  So, we're using this opportunity to allow those to get in their donations, as well as possibly reach more orphans!  Will you continue spreading the word?

Also, I'm so happy to share with you our news clip from this morning!  Wach-Fox News featured us on the morning news and allowed us to share about some of the projects we're working on!  How blessed we feel!  Praying God will use that opportunity to stir in the hearts of others! First here is a shot taken just after our segment.  You will notice someone to my right... that would be Ansley.  The sweet 12 year old girl who has been making bracelets for us to help raise awareness and support!  They came into town to be on the show with me!  Thank you Ansley... you did a great job!

Many thanks... your Voices 4 the Voiceless Team

The HOPE Box

Well my friends, its that time of year.  The time of giving, the time to be thankful, the time of rejoicing our Savior, the King, our daddy & sweet sweet baby Jesus!  It is also a time of great need for so many.  A time when many are without, no hope in sight and no one to care.  But [we] do CARE.  And, we as believers in Christ, have HOPE! During the bad times, we trust in our mighty Savior to lift us up, to cradle us and wrap His loving arms around us.  We have HOPE that things will brighten up and that "this too shall pass".  Unfortunately though, many around the world do not share that same HOPE that we do.  So... with your help and hopefully some nice little incentives... we can help give them some HOPE!

With that being said... we're calling this next project/fundraiser The HOPE Box!  Our sweet friend, and Voices 4 the Voiceless team member, Lauren Casperhad a great idea and she has graciously allowed us to "borrow" it!  So.... here is how it works!

Below you will find nearly $300 worth of amazing goodies!  Wouldn't you LOVE to have some of these?  Maybe to keep for yourself, or maybe even share with a friend.  Or maybe you want to "win" this and give the entire box of goodies to a friend!  Whatever you plan to do with it, well, thats entirely up to you!  But just know that 100% of the funds raised from this will go to Voices 4 the Voiceless to continue spreading the word about the orphan crisis in and around the world!  The money will be used to make an impact, and be used for current and future projects!  Will you consider making a donation?

Here is how... simply click the donate button shown in this post.

To ENTER to WIN this awesome box of goodies, simply make a $5 donation!  Its that simple.  For every $5 donation you make... you will be entered.  So, if you donate $25, you will be entered 5 times!!!  PLUS... help us spread the word on facebook - and you'll get 1 additional entry!  :)  Please leave a comment letting us know if you did do a facebook status or post!

DEADLINE to ENTER is Wednesday, December 21st at 12:00pm [noon]!

[reason being... so we can get this shipped to the winner asap in hopes to receive before Christmas!]  :)

The Gift of Giving

Have you been thinking of ways to do something selfless this Christmas season?  Have you thought, how can I serve, how can I help?  Well... maybe this is your chance to help the orphans in Uganda this Christmas!  We're calling it The Gift of Giving!

You can make a donation on behalf of a friend, family member or maybe even yourself!  By purchasing a card in the amount of $10, $25 or $50... you can put food in the bellies of orphans!

For as little as $10, you can feed around 60 orphaned children in Uganda.  That is as little as .18 per child.
For $25, you can feed 140 and for $50, you can feed 280!!!

So... will you hop on over to our shop and help feed the bellies of these orphans?

Thank you from the Voices 4 the Voiceless team!

Child of the Week - Abigail

Wow... this little face reminds me so much of sweet Terri Lynn.  The sweet little face I saw just months ago that opened our eyes to what is really going on around the world, and one of the main reasons Voices 4 the Voiceless is now here.  :)

Meet sweet Abigail!  Is she not precious?!

Abigail was born in July of 2006.
She has brown eyes and brown hair.
She is considered friendly, happy and an orphanage favorite!
She is also described as loving and kind.  She is awaiting a loving & forever family!

Will you consider adopting her or praying about how you can help?

For more information, click HERE.

Many thanks, Voices 4 the Voiceless Team

Giving thanks!

We are beyond thankful for so much here at Voices 4 the Voiceless.  One being those who have stepped out and chosen to be a VOICE!  Amy at Filled with Praise so graciously "featured" Voices 4 the Voiceless on her blog.  We're so appreciative of her and her voice!  The more we're able to spread the word... the more lives we can reach and hopefully make a difference!  So, thank you Amy for your kind words and for helping us to spread the word about the orphan crisis around the world!

Secondly, we're thankful for those of you who have started sending in medical supplies!  These items will make a big difference and may seem like common items to us here in the states... but these are items that are greatly needed in Uganda!  Please, keep them coming!

Thanks again for all of you who continue to pray for us, our efforts, the projects we're working on, as well as each featured child!  We're all grateful for your voice!

Many thanks, your Voices 4 the Voiceless team!

Child of the Week - Olga

Hi everyone!

We're going to start being a voice for a child each week!  We will be featuring a child/orphan weekly, most all of whom have down syndrome or cerebral palsy and are up for adoption.  One of the very reasons Voices 4 the Voiceless was started was because of the precious face seen on a friend's blog.  Her name was Terri Lynn and she had been institutionalized and was literally dying in the institution!  Praise God she was adopted soon after the word spread about this precious child!  Had it not been for others who helped spread the word - who knows if I would have ever known about the tragic situations these children with down syndrome face in other countries!

Meet Olga!

This precious child is facing institution!

When a child faces institution, it is because they have hit the age of 5 and once they are institutionalized, they are drugged, kept in a crib and because of neglect, usually die there.  It is absolutely devastating and these children deserve loving homes just like any other orphan!  All of this because they have down syndrome, or something similar and in many countries... this means they are worthless.  :(

For more information on Olga, click HERE.  Or contact Reece's Rainbow to learn more information on how you can adopt Olga or donate towards her adoption costs!

Olga DOES NOT have down syndrome, instead, she has Cerebral Palsy.
Olga was born in December of 2007.
She is a female with gray colored eyes, and brown hair.  Her nature is said to be calm.
From an adoptive family who met her in August of 2011:
"She is gorgeous - long eyelashes, blue eyes, beautiful teeth and smile.  She seemed to have quite limited movement."

She currently has a little over $7,000.00 that is available towards the cost of her adoption!

Will you be a voice for Olga?

Thanks so much, Voices 4 the Voiceless

Matthew 14:15-21

15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”

16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
17 “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.

18 “Bring them here to me,” he said. 19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Will you be a voice?  Thank you for your support AND prayers!

PRAY

Hi everyone!

On behalf of Voices 4 the Voiceless, we want to thank each of you who have prayed for us, and our organization!  We ask that you continue to pray for us as we make difficult decisions!  Currently, we have been faced with some hard realities.  Many things have taken place over the last month or so - and we have prayed hard about direction.  God has shown us in many ways that the Congo is not where he has us right now.  As confusing and difficult as this has been for us, we're trusting in His plan and direction for Voices 4 the Voiceless.

We ask that you continue to pray for us!  Many of you have supported us from the beginning and prayed continuously for us!  You have prayed over our efforts, and you have prayed for the orphans all over the world.  Just because we have pulled reign from this specific project, doesn't mean that we will no longer push to bring awareness to the orphan crisis!  We hope that God will open doors in this country in the future.  Wherever it is God has us - we promise to seek His will!

At this time, we are all praying earnestly for His guidance during this time.  Praying for Him to give us each some clarity as to where it is He wants us, and where we can serve!

Team members, Brantley & Richard Freeman have been called to Uganda in March!  When the Congo trip was cancelled, God began to reveal many things in their hearts.  He has led them to Uganda to serve alongside Visiting Orphans.  They will be working in the Canaan Children's Home and seeking ways to make a difference!  If you would join with us and pray for them, and pray for opportunities for them to be used for His glory!

Many thanks for your continued support and prayers!

Until then... Voices 4 the Voiceless Team

Who are we???

Okay, there have been quite a bit of questions floating around - curious as to who we are?  What is our goal?  Are we only focusing on the DR Congo?  How can others get involved?  Etc.

Here are some answers some of your questions...

1] We're a non-profit organization with a primary focus on orphans!  Our mission is simply to be the voice for orphans all over the world!  While at the same time, bringing glory to Christ through our missions!

2] Our goal you might ask?  Well, currently, our goal is raise the funds to support an orphanage in the DR Congo.  We are passionate about this project and we know this can help house 70 orphans.  The total cost for this project is $200, 000.  And although this seems steep... this will pay to build the orphanage, a safety wall as well as furnish & stock the orphanage with the supplies needed.  We also have several other local projects we're working on.  More information on those will be coming soon!

3] Do we only work in the DR Congo?  No.  We want to help orphans worldwide.  At this time, this is where we're beginning.  We have projects that we will soon be starting here in the U.S.  within the next week or so.

4] Many of you have asked... "How can I get involved, how can I help?"  Many ways... we're going to be hosting a number of fundraisers throughout the year where we will NEED your help, support and prayers.  We would love to have your support on these projects when the time comes.  Also, we will need the help from others by spreading the word.  Something has simple as posting our link on your website, blog, facebook or even twitter can help in a huge way.  The more people that know about us, the more awareness we can bring to the orphan crisis around the world.

So... that sums us up!  I hope this helps to clarify any questions you may have.  If not, please do not hesitate to ask!  You can email us and we will be happy to answer your questions and help find a way for you to get involved!

Thank you!

Wow! We're all blown away by the encouraging words and support you have all shown to us!  We have had  quite a few ups and downs getting to this point... but God has made it very clear to us that we're in His Will!  And for that, I am thankful!  So many of you have reached out in emails and facebook comments offering your support!  We are so grateful to each and every one of you!  We're still in the beginning stages and have a lot of fundraising ideas, and projects still in the works!  However, one way you can help is to PRAY!

Pray that we will being glory to God in ALL we do!  Pray that He will meet the needs, and raise the funds necessary to make a big difference in so many orphans lives!  Pray that our voice will be heard and that people will SEE what is going on right here in our own towns and all around the world!   We believe He has BIG things in store for Voices 4 the Voiceless!  We're so excited to be on this journey and pray that you will continue to pray for us and the adventures we're on!

There are so many needs to be met, and one of which is Project Congo.  We believe God led us to this spot, to this orphanage, and we're asking for your help!  Will you consider donating to this project?  Even if its only a couple dollars, every penny helps!

Again, thank you so much for your willingness to help!

Many thanks,

DRUM ROLL EVERYONE......

Well.... now that the BIG news is out and you all know about Voices 4 the Voiceless... we have a project to announce that NEEDS your help!

We're calling it... Project Congo.

In Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo is an orphanage called the Mama Ekoko.  It was meant to be the home for around 70 orphans.  Unfortunately, due to a poorly built structure, the winds and rains were too strong for this structure to withstand.  A storm came through & damaged much of the facility & everyone was forced to evacuate.  Because there wasn't a perimeter wall built, thieves came in and stole everything from the facility, including the metal sheet roofing.  Due to a lack of funds, this orphanage has remained empty and the orphans were left to fend for themselves.

This is what the structure looks like now, but will need to be salvaged where possible, then rebuilt.

With your help... we hope to raise the funds needed to build a new structure that can house up to 70 orphans!  This is what the future orphanage will look like!

We pray that you will feel led to help us on this exciting new journey!  Will you partner with Voices 4 the Voiceless to give a home to these orphans who are currently left fending for themselves?

The total estimated price to fund this project [supplies & materials] is $200,000.  If you wish to see an exact breakdown of the costs for this project, please contact us via email and we will happily send that information to you.  Also, if you'd like to help by making a donation, you can mail to the address below:

Voices 4 the Voiceless, Inc
P.O. 1149
Columbia, SC 29202

Thank you again for your prayers & support!  We're so excited to see what God will continue to do in and through us!  Thank you for partnering with us!

Brantley & Angela

Thursday, August 11, 2011

Welcome!

Hi everyone!

Angela and myself want to welcome each of you to an exciting journey we've only begun!  Voices 4 the Voiceless is a Non Profit 501 C3 Organization.  Our mission is to bring awareness to the orphan crisis all over the world, and be the voices for those that don't have one.  If we don't, then who will??

Thankfully, so many are reaching out to Horn of Africa and helping in many ways, children in Ethiopia are getting forever families and awareness is being brought into countries who mistreat children with special needs.  However, the need is still great and we hope you will join with us to be a VOICE!

Our #1 priority is that Christ in honored in EVERYTHING we do!  We pray that people will not see what we're doing... instead SEE how Christ is working in and through us!  And of course, our mission is to be a VOICE.  Our 1st major project that we've committed to is what we're calling  [Project Congo].  There is a great need in this untouched country.  We call it the forgotten.  Unfortunately, there is so much that has been misunderstood about this country!  We are here to educate you, inform you and hopefully encourage you to help be a voice!

We have partnered with another organization in the Democratic Republic of Congo... and plan to reach out to a local orphanage there.  They are in need of so much... but we believe that with your help... we CAN make a difference!

We also have several others who have stepped up and are now helping us lead some other local projects!  There will be many ways you can help, and we know that WE can all make a difference!  You can "follow" our blog to keep up with all of the exciting projects that are going on!
